Texas Monthly

A few months ago a writer from Texas Monthly, Michael Hall, contacted Mike and I and asked if he could do a story about Johnny and the skating community. Of course we said yes. We've been working with Michael since last Feb/March and the piece is finally finished and published. In addition to the feature article, they also produced a video -- here is the link:

I know I might be slightly biased, but it's a solid piece all the way around -- story, video, photos. Texas Monthly did an amazing job. We can't thank them enough.

As a recent graduate, I received a complimentary issue of TxM today. I just finished reading Johnny's a few moments ago. Amidst tears, I am also inspired. I have no children, so I cannot comprehend the loss of a child. My resolve is to honor him by taking to heart the hope and power of the human spirit that his story has inspired me to feel. You and your husband, family, are amazing and thank you so much for sharing your son's story with the world.

I will now take the story of his love of life with me, in hopes of living up to the courage, strength and values he showed so valiantly.
